LYNN – Two men are under arrest and a Lynn man and his family are badly shaken after a violent home invasion on North Franklin Street Friday morning.Police say four men stormed into a single-family home at 12 North Franklin St. around 5:30 a.m. Friday claiming to be state police officers. Once inside they allegedly ran upstairs and demanded money from a safe owned by one of the victims. The four men fled the home after allegedly robbing the victim of thousands of dollars. After searching the area police arrested two of the alleged burglars, 17-year-old Joshua Hansen of 67 Lovers Leap, Lynn and 18-year-old Rony Kevin Bienaime of Brooklyn, N.Y.Bienaime has been charged with armed home invasion.Deputy Police Chief Kenneth Santoro said charges for Hansen were not immediately available.Police are still investigating the incident and details are sketchy, but a close friend of the victim said the attack was pre-meditated.”This wasn’t just a random act, they had the house scoped out,” said the friend, who arrived at the home shortly after the attack, but did not want to be identified. “He was going to put a down payment on an apartment, he had the money in a safe and someone knew about it.”Police are not releasing the victim’s identity at this time but did confirm that three people were in the home at the time of the attack. The victim’s friend said the victim occupied the home with his mother and had recently renovated the house for her. A recent Lynn census report lists the homeowner as 42-year-old Darlene Tenaglia. The victim appeared to be in his early to mid 20’s.”He has money, he is a real hard-working kid, but this isn’t gang- or drug-related. I don’t want people to think that this was some sort of gang thing,” the victim’s friend said. “We don’t need that around here. He is just a real hard-working kid,” he said. “I really can’t stress that enough. The kids just knew he had money in general, it wasn’t gang-related, there are no drugs in the house.”Police found clothing shed by one of the assailants in the driveway of a home on nearby Bulfinch Street and found a small briefcase containing what appeared to be BB gun pellets and small Co2 containers in front of 31 North Franklin St.Santoro said that as of early Friday afternoon, police had not recovered a weapon or money, but said the investigation is still ongoing. The victim stated to police that one of the assailants was armed with a shotgun, and the friend alleged that the gun was held to the victim’s face when they demanded the safe be opened. According to the friend, the victim had a large sum of cash, nearly $5,000, in the safe that he planned on using as a down payment on an apartment this weekend.Neighbors were also shaken by the attack, and say this is not the first time there have been problems at that home. One neighbor who did not want to be identified because she was fearful of retaliation described the victim as a “trouble maker” and say police were at the home last week.Another neighbor said she was awake at 5:30, but was unaware of the attack until she heard the police arrive. She said she heard only yelling, no gunshots, coming from the home.A review of police logs reveals that Tenaglia was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct Friday, Aug. 23 at the home.Lynn and state police are still at the home interviewing the victims and surveying the area for more evidence. Two suspects remain at large and are described as black males in their late teens or early 20s, wearing dark clothing and possibly armed.
