LYNN – A police arrest sheet lists Yorgi Tejeda’s occupation as a construction worker, but the State Police Drug Task Force says his second occupation was a cocaine dealer in Lynn and nearby cities who transported over $1 million of product at a time.Tejeda, 33, of 85 Archdale Road, Roslindale, was arrested during a traffic stop on Boston Street about 2 p.m. Saturday. Lynn District Court Judge Richard Mori ordered him held on $1 million cash bail.A search of the car revealed a large, hidden compartment behind the back seat that allegedly held 14 kilos of cocaine worth $1.3 million.Police say Tejeda was part of a large-scale cocaine trafficking ring with roots in Lynn, Boston, Everett and Worcester.Court documents say an investigation into the drug ring began in August 2004 when police received information from an undercover informant, who said a “Dominican male from Lynn” was connected to the ring.Special agents of the State Police Drug Task Force and New Hampshire State Police were able to identify Tejeda and several others during the first three years of their investigation, according to court documents. On Aug. 20, agents identified an Everett house as the home of one of the suspects. The agents began a surveillance of the suspect, and at one point followed the suspect to Worcester as the suspect drove a black BMW with New Hampshire plates. From there, a white female was seen driving the BMW to the Connecticut border, where investigators believe she picked up a cocaine load.On Friday, police received information from an informant that a shipment of cocaine was expected to occur on Saturday, according to court documents.Agents in Worcester followed the white female on Saturday as she drove from Worcester to Everett, where she allegedly met Tejeda in the parking lot of Target, where the pair switched vehicles. At 2:10 p.m., police allegedly followed Tejeda in the BMW as it left Everett and headed to Blossom Street in Lynn. Tejeda allegedly parked the vehicle for 10 minutes and then drove it to Boston Street. An agent pulled him over for a defective brake light.State Police K-9 “Richter” alerted police that narcotics where somewhere in the back seat area, police said.Tejeda is expected back in court Oct. 2 for a pre-trial hearing. His defense attorney is Socrates De La Cruz of Lawrence.
