LYNN -Voted the best “Zip Trip” of the summer, the city will once again be graced by the company of the Fox 25 News crew Friday morning as they broadcast a portion of their morning program.
On Aug. 29, newscasters set up shop at Red Rock Park, where area businesses contributed refreshments and Zimman?s Furniture provided a couch and an oriental rug to spruce up the outdoor set.
This week, the crew has chosen the new Manning Field as their place to broadcast live from, hours before the official dedication for the new stadium will take place at 6 p.m.
Andrea Scalise, aide to Mayor Edward J. Clancy Jr., said the city is thrilled to have the newscasters back for a second show.
?The program shows people all of the great things about Lynn,” she said. “People are welcome to come, but it won?t quite be the same as last time because there will only be one segment about Lynn this time and the rest of the program will be the normal segment with Doug “VB” Goudie (Fox personality).”
Scalise said about 40 percent of the 5,000 visitors to Fox?s website, www.myfoxboston.comvoted for Lynn as the best trip.
The news feature, which begins at 6 a.m., airs weekly during the summer and features personalities Doug “VB” Goudie, Gene Lavanchy, and Swampscott resident Kim Carrigan exploring different communities across the state.
Various city officials fielded questions from the audience and the news crew on Aug. 29, and highlighted city programs and new businesses coming to the area.
