The West Lynn Pop Warner teams took on the Spy Ponders of Arlington Sunday at Manning Field.The dark clouds had moved on and opening season games began with the E-squads playing first.The “Mighty Mites” won this game 13-0.The Spy Ponders D-squad beat the West Lynn Rams 19-13 in what proved to be a very exciting game.The Rams C-squad took the field and rolled past the Arlington Spy Ponders to a 29-0 victory.Quarterback, Jordan Brown threw a pass for a touchdown to Kevin Heing and also ran the ball for a touchdown himself.Kevin Heing also had a 45-yard punt return for a touchdown.Brad Scuzzarella had an interception returned for a touchdown.The Rams’ C-squad also had two touchdowns called back due to penalties.This is a team to watch as the season moves on.The Rams’ B-squad lost to Arlington, 6-0, in a non-division game.The A-squad beat the Arlington, 18-6 in the last game of the afternoon.Quarterback, Jalen Brown (brother of C-squad quarterback, Jordan Brown), passed for 150 yards and two touchdowns.Justin Wiggins had a 79 yard touchdown run. Putney Eslridge had a touchdown reception for 70 yards.Michael Dunham also weighed in on the action, having a touchdown reception for 50 yards.Salim Fort also contributed to the victory with two sacks.Next Sunday the Rams will be taking on the Boston Bengals at Manning Field.Come down for some more exciting, stay on your feet, Rams football.EAST LYNNThe Bulldogs’A-team defeated Saugus, 24-6, Sunday.Kadeem Greene scored in the first half for East Lynn. With the score tied 6-6 going into the fourth quarter the Bulldogs exploded for three scores.Cory Donohue had a 55 yard run when he stripped the football on a terrific defensive play.An East Lynn interception by Kennedy Gomes lead to a 45-yard touchdown pass from Greene to Gomes to make it 18-6.The final score came after a five play drive with PJ Dorsey scoring from five yards out.The Bulldog defense was lead by Cory Donohue, Cam Haggerty, Brandon Higgins and Robert O’Donnell.Coach Dave Ball praised how tough the Saugus team played and how hard they made East Lynn work for the win.The defending North Shore Champion East Lynn B Team Bulldogs are off to a great start with a season opening 34-0 victory on the road Sunday against the Saugus Sachems at Stackpole Field.The Bulldogs had an impressive season opener with QB Gerald Kahari leading the way.Kahari went 7-for-8 passing with 230 yards, three touchdown passes.He scored another touchdown on a punt return for a total of four touchdowns on the day and also kicked a conversion.Kahari threw 2 touchdown passes to Stephen Basden and another TD pass to Pich Buchuven.Adding to the offensive assault was running back Marcos Echevarria who rushed for 140 yards, scored a TD and also scored on a conversion.Also scoring a conversion was Fred Hogan bringing the total to 34 points.The Bulldogs defense was equally impressive with the shut-out as they didn’t allow a single first down the entire game.The B-East Lynn defensive held the Saugus Sachems to a total of negative 36 yards offense on the day.Leading the Bulldogs on the defense assault was Charles Collins, David Kazadi, Joshua Michel, Jalen Wilford, Cameron Sibelle and Brendan Dooley.
