REVERE – A woman learning how to drive was blamed Monday for crashing a pickup truck into two parked cars, a gas main and a house on Ridge Road.Melissa Beaton, 18, of Everett, was cited for unlicensed operation of a vehicle. She did not have a learner’s permit.Police arrived at 309A Ridge Road to find the black pickup resting against a tree and a silver car against a gas meter when they were called to the crash shortly after 8:30 p.m.According to Police Capt. Michael Murphy, a total of three cars were damaged. National Grid was called to the scene to stop possible gas from leaking.”Police on the scene were approached by a man who told them that he had been instructing his girlfriend how to drive when she lost control of the vehicle,” Murphy said.Murphy said the front of the house, front lawn and a fence were also damaged in the accident.On March 30, a husband was teaching his 29-year-old wife to drive with their three young children in the car when the wife, Noelle Ghiat, said she hit the gas instead of the brake and slammed the car into her neighbor’s house at 103 Temple St. Her husband suffered a broken ankle.
