REVERE – The district attorney’s office said Wednesday that jury selection has been delayed in the case of Eric Morale, the Mattapan man accused of a bizarre and horrific 2006 Revere home invasion.Morale, 30, of Mattapan, is accused of breaking into a Rice Avenue home on July 5, 2006 and holding the 50-year-old female resident, her 14-year-old daughter and two teenage friends hostage before raping all four of them at gunpoint with an accomplice.Jury selection was scheduled to begin Monday but has been delayed until today, according to Jake Wark, spokesman for Suffolk DA Dan Conley.Prosecutors previously said that before the home invasion, Morale had used a handgun to kidnap a 17-year-old girl from Hyde Park on July 4, 2006. He allegedly raped her in the back of a rental car.At about 5:30 a.m. on July 5, Morale allegedly drove to the Revere home with another man and committed the home invasion and rapes. The other suspect is still at large.Prosecutors said the men went to the Revere home because they suspected numerous valuables were in the house. During the attacks, Morale allegedly broke several of the 50-year-old victim’s ribs and smashed one 14-year-old’s head against a dresser, requiring stitches.
