Tech boys soccer coach Fred Gallo was looking for someone to step up offensively for the Tigers and Richard Jones-Alas answered the call.The junior center midfielder scored all four goals in a 4-2 win over Greater Lawrence Thursday at Manning Field. The first one came on a penalty kick 10 minutes into the game, and by midway through the half, the Tigers led 3-0. It looked like this one was well in hand, but Greater Lawrence wasn’t ready to roll over just yet. The Gryphons scored two goals, one on a penalty kick and the other on a breakaway, to make things interesting. Jones-Alas scored his final goal 31 minutes into the second half to put the game away.”I asked someone to take charge, to go out there and score, and he did,” Gallo said.Freshman Anthony Rodriguez, Christian Paxtor and Pedro Diaz had assists and freshman Kevin DeLeon got the job done in net. Tech is 1-3.Classical 2, Salem 1At Bertram Field, Salem struck first when Edwin Demoya scored on a penalty kick 2:36 into the game. The Rams (3-0-1) hung tough, and late in the second half, they tied things up on a goal by Rafael Rosa. The senior forward put in a rebound for his fourth goal of the season. Miguel Castro came up with the game-winner with about four minutes remaining with the assist going to Abdoulaye Bah.”It was a fantastic game,” Classical coach Joe Skahan said.Jeremy Dorson had another excellent game in net, shutting down the Witches on breakaways several times.”He’s just really stepping it up unbelievably. Freshman Mike Brennan put Marblehead on the board with 10 minutes left in the first half, and with two seconds remaining in the half, Sam Terrill made it 2-0. Jesse Lipkind padded the lead a bit with a goal in the second half. Nate Cullen had a pair of assists and Pat Song had one. Marblehead has nine goals this season from nine different scorers.Revere 4, Beverly 1At Revere, the Patriots scored eight minutes into the game and again at the 20-minute mark to put the Panthers on the run almost immediately. Revere had goals from Luis Zuniga, Christian Hernandez, Jeffrey Chhay-Cortizo and Kristi Kasuli. Brad Surette scored for Beverly in the first half to cut the deficit to 2-1. Ethan Trowt had the assist. Pat Wilson had 12 saves for the Panthers.Danvers 5, Winthrop 0At Danvers, the Falcons (2-1) got a hat trick from Chris Ciampa and two goals from Ben Pasquariello. Pasquariello and Tom Marini had assists. Goalie Andrew Mikulski made several stellar saves and stopped a penalty shot. Danvers led 3-0 at halftime.
