LYNN – Police barged into a Boston Street apartment and stopped a home invasion in progress before arresting the alleged victim for attacking the suspect inside the residence.Ulises Ayuso, 27, of 515 East Sixth St., South Boston, was arrested and charged with armed home invasion, assault with a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.Rocky L. Ayala, 27, the alleged victim, was also arrested after police allegedly witnessed him punch the intruder as officers tried to calm the situation. He was charged with assault and battery.Police were called to Ayala’s residence at 296 Boston St. shortly after 11:30 p.m. Wednesday when his girlfriend allegedly heard banging and someone shouting about a gun, police said.Police said Ayuso burst through the back door of an apartment and pistol whipped Ayala before the two began physically fighting. Police allegedly recovered a .32 caliber revolver under a couch cushion.According to police, the girlfriend believed her sister had a problem with Ayala and asked Ayuso to conduct the home invasion. Both men were arraigned Thursday in Lynn District Court, where Judge Joseph Jennings held Aryuso on $10,000 cash bail. Ayala was released on personal recognizance.
