REVERE – Police are investigating a stabbing that allegedly occurred Wednesday outside the Bank of America ATM in Mahoney Circle.At about 2:40 a.m., staff at Tufts University Medical Center in Boston called police after a 42-year-old Revere man drove himself to the hospital with a stab wound to the arm, police said.The victim told police he exited the ATM when an Asian male, about 5-foot-7 in his early 20s, confronted him with a large bladed knife and demanded money, police said.The victim told police he refused to hand over the cash and said he was slashed in the arm, according to police.”The victim told the investigating officer that it did not occur to him to call the police,” Police Capt. Michael Murphy said.The victim said he managed to drive himself to the Boston hospital after the suspect ran away toward Shirley Avenue, police said.The suspect was also wearing a dark baseball hat, white T-shirt and jeans, the victim told police.Detectives will try to examine surveillance video to verify the victim’s story, police said.
