REVERE – An elderly man was arrested at 3 a.m. Sunday for selling a trunk load of alcohol to a teenager and another man at a Broadway parking lot, police said.Armando Alvarez, 73, of 38 Sixth St., Chelsea, was charged with procuring alcohol to a minor.An officer on routine patrol stopped when he saw two young men retrieving 30-packs of beer from Alvarez’ car in the Walgreens parking lot, police said.The younger men were identified as David D. Ferreira, 19, of 45 McCoba St., Revere and Milton Silva, 29, of 71 McKinley St., Revere.An officer opened Alvarez’ trunk and found six 30-packs of beer, four six-packs of beer, four 100-milliliter bottles of rum and four packs of cigarettes, police said.”The officers came to the conclusion that Mr. Alvarez was selling alcoholic beverages from his motor vehicle,” Police Capt. Michael Murphy said.Murphy says at least two other 30-packs had already been transferred from Alvarez to the young men before police arrived.Alvarez was also found in possession of $700 cash, police said.Silva and Ferreira were also arrested and charged with procuring alcohol to a minor and underage possession of alcohol, respectively.Police seized the alcohol as evidence.
