LYNN – Police combed the area of Boston and Grover streets Wednesday night after a man was shot in the leg.Police initially searched for a shooter described as a black male only 14 or 15 years old and wearing a hooded sweatshirt.Witnesses said the victim was a 20-year-old Lynn man.Officers searched the basement of an apartment building at 341 Boston St. after the suspect was seen running through the driveway, according to a resident.A chaotic scene unfolded briefly on Cedar Street where police squared off with a small group of young men who refused to leave the scene. One person was handcuffed.Police cordoned off Grover Street, where the shooting apparently took place, but the victim was found in front of 16 Cedar St. shortly before 9 p.m.A woman who said she’s lived on Cedar Street for 43 years said she heard about three to five gunshots.Multiple neighbors said Wednesday’s shooting was the first they could remember on their block.Police continued to search for the shooter at press time.
