LYNN – A Lawton Avenue man was arrested for kidnapping Tuesday after his live-in girlfriend tried to leave their home because he was drunk, police said.Mateo Monroy-Cutuc, 38, of 151 Lawton Ave. #2, Lynn, was arrested and charged with kidnapping, domestic assault and battery and threatening to commit a crime shortly after 4:30 p.m.At Monroy-Cutuc’s court arraignment, Lynn District Court Judge Ellen Flatley ordered him held without bail until a dangerousness hearing is held Oct. 16.A neighbor led police into the couple’s home where officers allegedly found Monroy-Cutuc holding his girlfriend on a bed against her will. She was crying and screaming and could be heard from outside the house, police said.Officer David Harney pushed Monroy-Cutuc off the bed after he refused to let go, according to police. The victim later told officers that Monroy-Cutuc was drunk when she arrived home. She tried to go to her brother’s house until he sobered up when Monroy-Cutuc refused to let her leave, according to police.Monroy-Cutuc was arrested on Sept. 4 for a similar domestic violence incident at the couple’s home.Police said he came home drunk and accused his girlfriend of speaking to another man on the phone when she was really talking to her brother. He grabbed her by her hair when she began screaming and a neighbor called police.Monroy-Cutuc works as a packer at a Chelsea produce store. Police said he abuses alcohol, putting him at a high risk to commit domestic violence.
