LYNN – A woman well known to police was arrested for armed robbery Monday after she jumped into a man’s car because she noticed he had a wad of cash, according to police.Jackeline Hernandez, 26, of 29 Fountain St. #2, Haverhill, was arrested and charged with armed robbery shortly after 10 p.m.The victim did not know Hernandez and was sitting in his car on Lewis Street when the robbery occurred, police said.The man dropped off his girlfriend at her home adjacent to Rite Aid when Hernandez allegedly walked by his car and noticed a wad of $240 cash lying in the center console.Without warning, police said Hernandez jumped into the victim’s car and asked if he wanted to buy a pair of sunglasses.He answered, “No.”At that point Hernandez allegedly grabbed the money and jumped out of the car.The victim followed her down the street demanding his money back.Hernandez allegedly said she had a screw driver and, “Don’t come any closer or I’ll stab you,” according to a police report.Police arrived at the corner of Cherry and Lewis streets and talked to both people before placing Hernandez under arrest.Lynn District Court Judge James Wexler released Hernandez on personal recognizance at her arraignment Tuesday.Hernandez was previously arrested in Lynn on Aug. 7 for domestic assault and battery and an outstanding warrant. She was arrested twice in June for prostitution.
