LYNN – A Lynn man was ordered held on $25,000 bail after police searched his Boston Street home and found a weapon, drugs and stolen goods at his home, according to police.Steven Villafane, 25, of 525 Boston St., was arraigned Monday on charges of unlicensed possession of a firearm and ammunition, trafficking crack cocaine, use of a firearm in commission of a felony and a drug violation in a school zone.A police report states Lynn police gang unit officers found a .380 caliber Sterling handgun in his dresser drawer, a digital scale with cocaine residue and a bag of crack cocaine hidden between a mattress and a box spring among other items.Police also confiscated a Sony flat screen television and a Garmin GPS unit from the home because they say the items were likely stolen in five recent break-ins.A police report obtained in Lynn District Court records does not indicate why Villafane was being investigated.Court records show Villafane was charged in September 2004 with armed robbery and January 2006 with possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to distribute.Judge James Wexler set Villafane’s bail Monday and ordered him back to court Nov. 13 for a probable cause hearing.
