October 25, 2008 by Thor Jourgensen

REVERE – A Revere man and another from Lynn are in stable condition in local hospitals following a shooting centered on an apartment building opposite City Hall.Police and the Suffolk District Attorney’s office declined to identify the victims while the investigation is ongoing. Revere police Sgt. Jeffrey Langone Friday morning said, “We are not actively looking for a suspect.””Our intention is to determine which person or persons opened fire in a residential area. The incident does not appear to be random,” DA’s spokesman Jake Wark said.Police did not say if the men lived in the apartment or provide details on the circumstances of the shooting.”Exactly what occurred is under investigation,” Wark said.Police responded to multiple reports of gunshots at 10 Yeamans St., a 45-apartment brick building at the corner of Broadway, and were directed to Apartment 13.The unit was empty, but they found a 31-year-old Lynn man lying a short distance nearby up Reservoir Avenue, shot in the chest. He was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital.A short time after finding the first shooting victim, Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett called Revere Police to report a second gunshot victim.Revere Police Sgt. Jeffrey Langone said officers interviewed the 24-year-old Revere man in the hospital, but he refused to answer questions. The second victim was shot in the back.Police have responded to the building in the past but declined to comment on whether the two individuals have a history with the department.
