MARBLEHEAD – Monday was not an idyllic day at the beach for one woman who fell on the rocks at Preston Beach in Marblehead.Marblehead Fire Capt. Betsy Wilson said a woman fell on the rocks at Preston Beach and needed to be rescued because she was unable to walk to safety.”She has a possible broken ankle,” Wilson said. “She was alert, conscious and did not appear to be in a lot of pain. But we had to call for a stretcher because she needed assistance and it is difficult terrain on the rocks.”Wilson said she did not have the name of the victim but confirmed the victim was there with a group of people from an area college. There were a large number of responders on the scene from both Marblehead and Swampscott because the incident occurred on the line.Wilson said the incident was initially called in to Swampscott, which sent police and fire.”It was on the Marblehead side of the line,” she said. “So Swampscott notified us and we sent fire, police and an ambulance.”Swampscott Detective Sgt. Tim Cassidy said the victim was a 28-year-old female.
