SWAMPSCOTT – Gourmet Garden, 430 Paradise Road, was broken into late Monday night or early Tuesday evening.Detective Sgt. Tim Cassidy said police received a call at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday reporting the break.According to police, Manager Kenneth Zheng reported the break-in, which occurred sometime between 10:30 p.m. on Monday and 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday.Cassidy said the perpetrators cut the telephone lines leading to the establishment at the telephone pole so the burglar alarm did not go off.”They forced in a grate on the rear door,” he said. “The place was ransacked. They pulled some stuff out of a closet and stole a safe with an undetermined amount of cash in it.”Detective Ted Delano and Cassidy investigated. Cassidy said detectives were able to lift some prints at the scene but haven’t identified any suspects yet.Anyone with any information is urged to call the Swampscott Police Department at 781-596-8869.
