LYNN – Three Lynn men were arrested during a traffic stop about 9 p.m. Wednesday on Eastern Avenue after police said the driver was excessively speeding.Anthony Vicente, 29, of 37 Parrot St., Lynn, was charged with driving with a revoked license, speeding, possession of a class B drug (Suboxone), a stop sign violation and giving a false name to police.Alfred Cochrane, 23, of 115 Lowell St. #1, Peabody, was charged with possession of a class B drug (cocaine).Juan Mota, 24, of 2 Johnson Terrace, was charged with an open container of alcohol violation.Lt. Tom Reddy was in an unmarked vehicle looking for a car that had been involved in an earlier shooting on Mace Place when a vehicle that looked similar to the suspect vehicle allegedly drove past him on Lafayette Park about 45 to 50 mph, police said.Police said Reddy had trouble keeping up with the vehicle because it was driving so fast on Fayette Street. The driver allegedly didn’t stop for a stop sign at Essex Street and continued onto side streets until the car was finally pulled over at the corner of Eastern Avenue and Pacific Street.Police determined the speeding vehicle had nothing to do with the shooting on Mace Place, but questioned the occupants about their suspicious behavior. As the lieutenant approached the vehicle he said a passenger, later identified as Cochrane, threw an object out the window that later turned out to be a rolled up dollar bill containing white residue believed to be cocaine.Police said the driver was fumbling with an object before the officer arrived. After calling for back up, officers found seven orange pills of Suboxone in a compartment next to the driver’s seat, police said. While searching the vehicle, officers said they found a half-gallon bottle of Grey Goose vodka on the floor near the back seat, which Mota allegedly said belonged to him.Vicente allegedly told police his name was “Francisco Velez” to hide the fact that his license was revoked, police said.
