List of Veterans Day Activities

LYNN-Mass Honoring Veterans will be held Tuesday Sacred Heart Church, 9 a.m. 571 Boston St. The event is sponsored by Polish Legion of American Veterans (PLAV), Post 56. Please form at the corner of Cottage and Boston Streets at 8:45am for procession to the Church.PLAV will hold a Veterans Day Ceremony Tuesday at Breed Square, 10 a.m. or immediately following Mass at Sacred Heart Church.City of Lynn Veterans Day Ceremony will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at City Hall. Lynn Public Schools Band and local tenor Brian Landry will perform. Light Refreshments will be served.LynnfieldThe Town of Lynnfield will host a Veteran’s Day observance Tuesday on the Lynnfield Common at 11 a.m. In case of rain, the program will be held indoors at the Middle School auditorium.MarbleheadA Veterans ceremony will be held Tuesday in Abbot Hall auditorium at 10:30 a.m. Doors to Abbot Hall will open at 9:45am. Chaplain Lyman Rollins Post, #2005, Veterans of Foreign Wars, will host this event. The Marblehead High choral group, under the direction of Amanda Roeder, will perform and there will be a special dedication of a bronze “Marblehead Forever” plaque dedicated to Paul Lausier. Breakfast will be served immediately following the ceremony at the VFW, 321 West Shore Drive.NahantThe Nahant American Legion Post #215 and Nahant Veterans Association will hold a Memorial Service at the Greenlawn Cemetery Tuesday at 11 a.m. The brief service will be followed by a reading and wreath laying at the Veterans Memorial Park.PeabodyMayor Michael Bonfanti will lead a Veterans Day program Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. on the front lawn of City Hall.RevereCity Hall is closed Tuesday in honor of Veterans Day.SaugusThere will be a Veterans Day Parade Tuesday, Nov. 11 stepping off from the American Legion Scott Procopio Post 214 at 10:30 a.m. The parade will proceed to Veterans Memorial Park for a service. Korean War Veteran and local Poet Laureate Thomas Sheehan is the guest speaker. The post will open at 8 a.m. for anyone that wants to stop in for coffee and doughnuts and there will be a collation following the parade that is also open to the public.SwampscottThere will be a be a brief Veterans Day Memorial Service on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the World War I Flagpole on Monument Avenue. An open house will follow the service at VFW Post #1240, 8 Pine St.
