LYNN – Police are investigating whether a West Lynn shooting that injured a 16-year-old boy Wednesday was an accident.Officers rushed to 12 Edwards Court, off Western Avenue, at about 4:30 p.m. after the teenager, identified by his father as Brian Khampharasavath, suffered a non life-threatening gunshot wound to the right arm.”I just got home from work. My mom called me and I came over,” said Sioipapha Khampharasavath, the father of the shooting victim. The man said his son was shot in the living room of their home and said the incident appeared to be accidental.”They (police) are just waiting for the investigation,” he said.Randy Upton was working at a furniture store next to the house when he heard commotion and came outside.”I come around the corner and he was bleeding real bad,” Upton said. The victim’s 14-year-old sister, Amanda Khampharasavath, said a friend ran to her and said Brian got shot.”He said he got shot and I thought he was just kidding or goofing around,” she said. “He said it was accidental.”Officers said the shooting is being investigated as an accident but won’t make a definite conclusion until the investigation is completed.
