LYNN – A Lynn man was charged with allegedly raping a drunken 16-year-old girl after dragging her from a Somerset Court party Friday night and into the woods.Manuel Teixeira, 28, of 20 Stephen St., Lynn, was arrested and charged with rape shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday, according to Lynn District Court documents. A police booking sheet lists Teixeira’s address as 156 Grove St., Brockton.Judge Albert Conlon ordered the suspect held on $10,000 cash bail at a Monday arraignment. The victim called police after saying she recognized the suspect’s car Saturday on Essex Street near Sullivan’s Liquors after police were called there for a disturbance. The girl told police she believed the driver had sexually assaulted her the previous night during a large house party at 4 Somerset Court, according to a police report. The victim said she was drunk when she remembered Teixeira grabbing her hand and pulling her into a wooded area behind the house, according to police. She said she blacked out but woke up as the suspect was sexually assaulting her.She said she blacked out again and woke up in a bathroom at the Somerset Court home with her pants down, police said.Teixeira told police he didn’t have sex with anyone or bring any females into his car, according to police. He said he only spoke with the victim once when he allowed her to use his cell phone. The resident of 4 Somerset Court denied a party occurred. However, in separate statements, the victim said about 30 people were in attendance while Teixeira said only about 10 were there.According to court documents, Teixera requested Monday the court provide him $1,000 to hire a private investigator because he said it’s “necessary to ensure a fair trial.” He’s due back in court Dec. 15.
