Students at Lynn Vocational and Technical Institute continue to improve on the MCAS test as 26 students qualified for the John and Abigail Adams scholarship in 2008.The awards are handed out to any high school senior who scored either proficient or advanced on the MCAS exams in both math and English/language arts. Qualifying students receive four years free tuition at any University of Massachusetts campus or any participating state college or university. The scholarship does not cover housing and fees.In 2008, 26 LVTI seniors received the award, a vast improvement from last year’s number of four.”We’re definitely moving in the right direction,” Tech Director James Ridley said.
