MARBLEHEAD-Marblehead Village School sixth-graders will have a chance to do more than just move themselves to the Marblehead Veterans Middle School during the December vacation. They?ll have a chance to help move books and other articles to the school as well.Wednesday, Dec. 10, from 2-3:30 p.m. sixth-grade students and teachers will have a “Pack and Pizza Party” at the Village School. The students won?t be doing any heavy lifting. The real moving and any necessary storage will be handled by Diamond Relocation of Wakefield, the lowest of four bidders for the contract with $24,969.The sixth grade is moving to the Veterans School so that work can commence on the Village School boiler replacement and renovation project in January. The sixth grade has already moved once. On the first day of school, Grade 4 moved to the top floor of the school?s three-story 1967 wing and Grade 6 moved from that floor to the one-story 1955 wing of the building.Thursday, Dec. 11, from 8:15-10 a.m. the sixth-grade parents have been invited to tour the Middle School and see the Village School students? classrooms.Wednesday morning, Dec. 17, sixth-grade students will have the chance to tour the Middle School and see their new classrooms.?I think they?ll be very happy there,” said Superintendent of Schools Paul Dulac.Dulac has said that when the sixth graders reach the Veterans School they will still be Village School students on a Village School schedule, in their own separate space.
