PEABODY-Christmas will come to Peabody this weekend with the city?s 25th Annual Holiday Festival.?This year?s Festival promises to be a treat for all who attend,” said Mayor Michael Bonfanti. “Once again, we will be joined by Santa and Mrs. Claus, direct from the North Pole.”The Peabody Veterans Memorial High School Full House Acappella group will kick things off Sunday, Nov. 30 at 4 p.m. with a special performance of classic Christmas carols in front of City Hall.Caroling will be followed at 4:30 p.m. by the arrival of the event?s biggest stars, Mr. and Mrs. Claus, who will make their grand entrance aboard a fire truck. Bonfanti will join the happy couple for the tree lighting shortly after.At 5 p.m., parents will get a chance to warm up indoors as children get their chance to sit on Santa?s lap and tell the jolly old soul what?s at the top of their wish list this year.The event is free and open to the public.
