The East Lynn Pop Warner C Squad begins its pursuit for a national championship in the Pee Wee division Sunday with an 11 a.m. game againstSouthfield-Lathrop (MI) on the grounds of Disney World in Orlando, Fla.
The Bulldogs, coached by Bob Maitland, won the right to play for the title last Friday with a win over Worcester in the New England Regionals.
The teams are promised two games, even thought it is technically a single-elimination tournament. Should Lynn win its game Sunday, it’ll play next at 3 p.m. Wednesday against the winner of a game involving teams from California and Hawaii. A loss would see them in action at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
The championship game is Saturday, Dec. 13, at noon.
Teams from Lynn, Michigan, California, Hawaii, North Carolina, Florida, Texas and Maryland are participating.
