LYNN – A Lynn police lieutenant on his lunch break this afternoon helped arrest three home invasion suspects during a car stop at the corner of Cook and Eade streets, police said.
Lt. William Sharpe, the department’s spokesman, was driving an unmarked car on Maple Street when he noticed another car drive through the intersection of Western Avenue at a high rate of speed around 2 p.m.
Sharpe followed the car, which police said contained three suspects involved in a Beede Avenue home invasion minutes earlier, and pulled it over after calling Lt. Mike Vail for back up.
The three suspects, who police have not identified because charges are still pending, were arrested at gunpoint.
At about 1:30 p.m., police responded to 8 Beede St. after a woman ran from the residence after three men with guns allegedly stormed the house.
She ran into a Henry Avenue residence and called police.
