Man to be arraigned for Cedar Brook Road stabbing

LYNN -A Cedar Brook Road man faces assault and battery charges after slightly wounding another man in a knife attack Wednesday.
Police said Victor Villaverde, 21, 84 Cedar Brook, is scheduled to be arraigned on assault charges in District Court after slashing a 42 year-old Lynn man’s right eyelid and stabbing him in the knee.
Police Lt. William Sharpe said the pair argued in Villaverde’s home at 6:44 p.m. Wednesday before a shoving match escalated into a fight and Villaverde stabbed the man.
Sharpe did not immediately identify the victim but described him as an “associate” of Villaverde’s.
