LYNN – Two people were shot at the corner of Western Avenue and Barrett Street shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday and police initially said the suspect took off on a bicycle.Witnesses described the victims as two men in their 20s.One witness said he heard yelling and someone shouting, “Move it!” before 10 to 12 shots were fired across the street toward a parked red minivan.One man was shot in the hand before running to 570 Western Ave., where he asked someone to call 911 before running back to the crime scene, police said.The other man was more seriously wounded. Initial police transmissions reported he was shot multiple times and possibly in the back.Western Avenue was closed for a short time while police investigated. Numerous shell casings were found at the corner of Barrett Street.No arrests were made as police continued to actively investigate the incident as of press time.
