REVERE – The trial of the suspect accused of gunning down a Revere man inside his Augustus Street home is in the hands of a Suffolk Superior Court jury.Anh Vu Nguyen, 21, of Dorchester, is accused of driving in the snow to the home of Tai Nguyen, 20, and shooting him to death March 16, 2007.Tai Nguyen was in the living room watching television with his parents when at least three bullets tore through the walls, one of which struck him in the head. The victim and the suspect are not related.Prosecutor Edward Krippendorf said in closing arguments Monday the suspect had “a motive as big as this building” for the crime. He said the suspect opened fire after looking for the victim’s brother, who had recently begun dating the suspect’s ex-girlfriend.According to a statement from the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office, Krippendorf said Anh Vu Nguyen’s actions were based on “one person’s jealousy, one person’s anger and one person’s despicable, cowardly acts.””When you shoot at a house and you fire not one, not two, but at least three shots – possibly more – and the lights are on and you know that there are at least three people inside,” Krippendorf said, “you know death will result.”Prosecutors say the suspect drove to the victim’s house in the days leading up to his death looking for his brother and proclaiming to the brother, “That’s my girl.” Anh Vu Nguyen also allegedly made threats by phone and in person to his former girlfriend.
