LYNN – Lynn police are warning food delivery drivers to be on alert after a fourth driver reported being robbed at gunpoint since last week. The most recent robberies occurred Saturday and Thursday, which was Christmas Day.All four robberies have similar suspect descriptions and motives, police said.On Saturday at 11:07 p.m., police said two Hispanic males, both between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9, sat on a front porch as a Fauci’s pizza driver arrived at 17 Linden St. to make a delivery. As the driver approached the two men, a third man jumped out from behind some bushes and brandished a silver handgun. He took an undisclosed amount of cash and personal property, police said.On Christmas Day at 11:24 p.m., a Jade Pacifica driver was robbed while making a delivery at 11 Lyman St., police said.”The same circumstances were present. One suspect was on the stairs when another emerged from a concealed position,” Lynn police spokesman Lt. William Sharpe said. “The suspect description was similar for both robberies.”On Christmas Eve at 11:30 p.m., a Chinese food driver was robbed by two men on Johnson’s Terrace, a dark alley off Essex Street.Anita Brown of Lynn is the husband of the driver and was waiting in the car when he was robbed.”They stuck a shotgun right in his face,” Brown said in an interview Friday. “I want delivery drivers to be careful until the police catch these guys.”The first robbery was reported Sunday, Dec. 21 on Alice Avenue at about 7:45 p.m. A pizza delivery driver said he was approached by two men who stuck a double-barrel shotgun in his face before taking money and a cell phone.Sharpe said the suspects have been providing the businesses with invalid phone numbers while placing orders.”We would caution businesses to not send delivery drivers out to locations without a verified telephone call back number,” Sharpe said. “This should be a red flag for any business. Our recommendation would be to not accept the order.”A fifth robbery of a pizza delivery driver was reported in Marblehead on Monday, Dec. 22 at about 9 p.m. Two white, Hispanic males were wearing ski masks and allegedly robbed the driver.
