NAHANT – Nahant police are investigating an incident that rarely occurs in town: A drive-by shooting.Police said the shooting occurred about 10:45 p.m. Saturday at 6 Linda Lane.According to a police department log, Officer Michael Waters initially responded to the area about 10:50 p.m. after a Linda Lane resident reported hearing gunshots. The officer determined the call was unfounded and left the area. However, after daylight broke on Sunday, the resident of 6 Linda Lane, identified as Strates Frangules, called police after finding several bullet holes in his car and garage door, police said.Waters again responded to the home, this time about 6:30 p.m. Sunday, and confirmed that bullet holes were found. He also said the bullets appeared to have been fired from a high-capacity weapon. On Monday morning about 9:50, Sgt. Robert Dwyer pulled over Frangules’ car as he was driving on Nahant Road. Dwyer said the purpose of the stop was to ask Frangules if he had any information about the shooting that might help in the investigation, according to the police log.”The victim said he hasn’t had any problems with anyone in years (and) has no idea who could have done this,” Dwyer wrote in the log.Police have asked all officers to patrol the Linda Lane neighborhood as frequently as possible until the suspect is caught. Officers have also been asked to interview neighbors to see if anyone saw or heard anything suspicious Saturday night.
