LYNN – A suspected drug dealer led police on a chase Tuesday through Lynn and Saugus with a flat tire before the suspect crashed into another vehicle outside the Saugus police station and got away when police terminated the pursuit, Lynn police said.According to Lynn police spokesman Lt. William Sharpe, the Lynn Police Drug Task Force believed the suspect had just committed a drug deal moments before police attempted to pull over his car about 3 p.m.Sharpe said he did not know the exact location of the suspected drug deal. However, police chased the suspect down Boston Street toward the Saugus line after he allegedly failed to stop.At some point during the pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle got a flat tire.The chase turned right onto Hamilton Street in Saugus and continued for nearly a mile when the suspect struck a 2005 Chevy Impala, driven by a 60-year-old Danvers man, causing minor damage. The accident occurred right across the street from the Saugus police station.At that point, Lynn police terminated the pursuit.The suspect’s vehicle was later found abandoned behind Burger King on Route 1 northbound, Saugus police said.The suspect is described only as a male with dark hair, “bad teeth” and a thin face, the Saugus police log said. He was wearing a hat and dark blue sweatshirt at the time of the incident.No arrests were made.
