Morgan Jenkins went on a mad scoring spree for the Revere High girls basketball team, racking up 30 points in a 55-47 win over Saugus Tuesday at Saugus.As it turned out, Revere would need all the offense it could muster. Saugus led by 10 in the quarter, Revere regained the lead in the third, only to see Saugus rally again. The Patriots took the lead for good in the fourth quarter.”We put a lot of defensive pressure on them in the second half,” Revere coach Pam Call-MacDonald said.Revere also got the job done at the free throw line, nailing 20 of 27 shots. None were bigger than those by Kerri Roach, who went 3-for-3 from the line down the stretch, and Melissa Perrin, who hit two big freebies late in the game.Christina Bagnera had 12 points in the win. Saugus had good games from Liz Dean, Jackie Strangi and Sarah Dean.Saugus is 4-6 and Revere is 4-5.Winthrop 54, Classical 46At Winthrop, the Vikings (4-6) have struggled in the early going this season, but Courtney Finn continues to give the oppositions nightmares.The Bentley College-bound senior, who eclipsed the 1,500 career-point milestone against Salem last week, had 24 points.Classical was in this one all the way, leading 26-23 at the half. Hannah Byrne had 12 points and nine rebounds, Pierina Mora had eight points and six rebounds and Diamond Doe had six points and five rebounds.Beverly 52, Danvers 49At Danvers, the Falcons (7-3) dropped their second in a row in they did it in painful style, losing a 19-point third quarter lead. Beverly outscored Danvers 25-6 in the fourth quarter, taking advantage of a boatload of second half turnovers. Taylor Cross had 16 points for Danvers and Erica Veilleux had 12. Kelly Shea led Beverly with 15 points.Minuteman 55, Tech 34At Lexington, the Tigers (0-7) are still looking for their first win, but they turned in a dramatically improved performance from the first time they played Minuteman. Jenna Kulakowski scored 12 points, Fanice Jean-Baptiste had eight and Octavia Harper added six.Peabody 51, M’head 26At Marblehead, the Tanners (4-5, 4-3) spread out the offense led by Janelle Rodriguez, who had 16 points, six steals and four rebounds, and Jillian Rizzo, 12 points.Wilmington 58, Lynnfield 40At Lynnfield, Allison Newell had 10 points and Jamie Harris and Nicole Crawford each had eight in a losing effort for the Pioneers (4-6).Salem 53, Gloucester 50At Gloucester, Hannah Cain had 20 points for the Fishermen and Lindsey Rogers added 15, but Salem had the juice at the end.The Witches missed a free throw with six seconds remaining, giving the Fishermen an opportunity to tie it, but the shot from 3-point land missed. Jasmine Bryant had 16 points for Salem (6-3, 5-2).Gloucester is 5-4, 3-4 in Northeastern Conference.Fenwick 59, W. Roxbury 29At Fenwick, the Crusaders (6-2, 3-1 Catholic Central League) had this one under control early. Amy Pelletier had 16 points, Bridget Dullea, 10 points and Lauran DiCarlo, eight.
