LYNN – Lynn, Swampscott and state police, along with the Lynn probation department, arrested the second suspect in a Dec. 22 kidnapping that ended with gunfire on Windsor Avenue in Swampscott.Luis Espinosa, 28, of 6 Richard St. #1, Lynn, was arrested for kidnapping, armed robbery, attempted murder and a long list of other charges.Espinosa and Brian Rivera, 29, of 6 Quincy Terrace, Lynn, allegedly kidnapped a 30-year-old Lynn man, beat him, threw him from a car on Windsor Avenue and fired several gunshots at him in the middle of the night.Swampscott Police Sgt. Tim Cassidy said Espinosa was arrested during a traffic stop near the corner of Eastern Avenue and Victoria Road in Lynn about 3 p.m. Tuesday. Cassidy said police had conducted a stakeout of the area after receiving information that Espinosa was staying at a home in the neighborhood.Rivera was arrested Monday after he was found at a Peabody motel.Jered Jones, 27, whose address is the same as Espinosa’s, was arrested Monday in connection with a separate kidnapping and robbery that occurred Jan. 9 on Canal Street in Lynn. Cassidy said the cases do not appear to be connected.
