LAWRENCE – The pool of prospective jurors in the murder trial of Kathleen Hilton was temporarily exhausted Wednesday, but not before 12 of the 16-member jury were impaneled.The selection process was scheduled to re- sume today before Judge Howard Whitehead in Lawrence Superior Court where Hilton, a Lynn grandmother, faces murder and arson charges.According to Steve O’Connell, spokesman for Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett, seven jurors were impaneled on Tuesday and five on Wednesday.”Everyone will be back in court on Thursday when the final four will likely be selected. Once all 16 jurors are seated, opening statements will be made at the trial,” he said.Hilton, 62, has spent the past 10 years in state prison, awaiting trial on charges stemming from the Feb. 24, 1999 blaze on High Rock Street in Lynn that left five dead.Essex assistant DA Marcia Slingerland is prosecuting while attorney Michael Natola is defending Hilton.
