LYNN – A 29-year-old Warren Place man died Sunday at Massachusetts General Hospital after police found him shot in the face on the second floor of 176 Shepard St.Jose L. Ramos, 12 Warren Place, was shot sometime before 9:55 p.m. Friday when police received a call from a woman who reported a home invasion at 176 Shepard and said she had been tied up in the building’s first-floor apartment.She met responding officers along with a man who said he had been hit over the head with a handgun. The man took police to the second-floor apartment where they found Ramos lying on the kitchen floor. District Attorney’s spokesman Steve O’Connell said Ramos was taken to Union Hospital then Massachusetts General Hospital where he died Sunday afternoon.”His role in this matter is under investigation. Police are asking for anyone with any information to contact them at 781-595-2000,” O’Connell said, adding the state Medical Examiner’s office will conduct on autopsy Tuesday on Ramos’ body.
