Lynn cops investigate thefts at cemetery

LYNN – A Lynn police spokesman says detectives are trying to determine who stole a large amount of items and a pickup truck from St. Joseph’s Cemetery on Broadway.The foreman of the Catholic Cemetery Association reported a 2005 GMC Sierra pickup truck was stolen about 7:40 a.m. Tuesday, but police said the truck was later found in another town.In addition, police said someone broke into the cemetery garage and stole two Fisher snow plows, an air jack hammer, a snow blower and a leaf blower. Those items have not been recovered.”The incident has been assigned to our Criminal Investigation Division and is being actively investigated,” said Lt. William Sharpe, police spokesman.Sharpe says the thefts occurred sometime late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.
