Warrant out for Revere man accused of strangling ex-girlfriend

REVERE – An arrest warrant has been issued for a Revere man who allegedly broke into his ex-girlfriend’s Lawrence Road home while she was sleeping Wednesday and strangled her, police said.Vincenzo Ravida, 44, of 7 Loring Road #1, is wanted for breaking and entering and assault and battery charges. He had not been arrested as of mid-afternoon Thursday.According to a police report, Ravida broke into his estranged girlfriend’s home about 1 p.m. by crashing through the front door as the woman slept.The noise awoke the victim, who got up to see what was going on.Ravida then allegedly charged at her and began to strangle her.During the struggle, Ravida allegedly pushed the woman to the floor and fled the apartment.Police officers who arrived a short time later said the front door and its frame appeared to be damaged.
