REVERE – Two armed robberies that occurred on the same North Shore Road sidewalk Saturday have striking similarities, including the description of a suspect and could be connected.According to police, the first robbery was reported about 1:25 a.m. at the corner of Shirley Avenue.A 20-year-old Revere man, who told police he just drank at two neighborhood bars, reported being robbed at knifepoint as he walked home. A white male and an Asian male allegedly pulled out a knife and demanded money. The second robbery was reported about 6:15 p.m. Saturday. A 54-year-old Revere woman said she was walking home from work when a white male with short blond hair said, “Hi” as he walked past at the corner of North Shore Road and Centennial Avenue. The location is two blocks away from the original robbery. After the greeting, the thief allegedly grabbed the woman’s purse. As the victim struggled, he allegedly pulled out a knife and pointed it at her chest. He stole the pocketbook and ran away.In the case of the earlier robbery, police said the victim reported drinking at a Mexican bar on Dehon Street and BK’s Bar on Ocean Avenue. Police also said his story changed three times. No arrests were made.On Thursday morning, a white male with dark hair in his 20s, possibly Latino, burst with a gun into Tobie’s Jewelry at 150 Shirley Ave., which is the same general location as Saturday’s robberies. He stole about $150 in cash and $168 in cheap rings, police said. The suspect is still at large.
