CHELSEA – A Revere teenager was arraigned Monday on a charge of vehicular homicide stemming from a high-speed crash on June 8 last year that left a passenger dead.Ramon Ortiz, 19, 8 Warren St. in Revere, pleaded innocent to a charge of motor vehicular homicide by negligent operation. He was released without posting cash bail and ordered to return to Chelsea District Court for a pre-trial hearing on March 26.The crash killed Ortiz’s friend, Michael Neves, 21. “Evidence suggests that Ortiz was traveling at a high rate of speed in a 25-mph zone and lost control of the vehicle,” said Jake Wark, spokesman for the Suffolk District Attorney’s office. “After a comprehensive investigation, prosecutors do not believe he was intoxicated.”Ortiz was represented by defense counsel Gerry D’Ambrosio and the commonwealth by Suffolk Assistant District Attorney Stacie Moeser.
