LYNN – A Lynn man who was arrested Friday on a warrant for domestic assault and battery was arrested again on Sunday for receiving a stolen motor vehicle.Brandon Payne, 20, of 95 Woodman St., was arraigned on the charges Monday in Lynn District Court. The most recent arrest occurred about 3:30 a.m. Sunday after Payne and three other men allegedly beat a man and stole a man’s car outside a house party at the corner of Holland and Western avenues.Almost immediately after the victim reported the incident, an officer in an unmarked police car saw the vehicle driving on Fayette Street. When a marked police car attempted to pull it over, the driver abruptly turned the car and crashed it into a snowbank at the corner of Chestnut and Collins streets. All four suspects ran, but police managed to catch Payne and Nathaniel Wade, 18, of 35 Westminster St., Hyde Park, who was allegedly driving with a suspended license. The incident marked Payne’s second arrest in one weekend. On Friday, Payne was arrested on a warrant for aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery. Police said that on Dec. 21 Payne was at home arguing with his pregnant girlfriend who said if he hit her she would call police. According to a police report, Payne allegedly said, “I’ll give you something to call the police about” and punched her in the face and body.Payne left the home before police arrived, prompting police to obtain an arrest warrant.Nine days earlier, an arrest warrant was also issued for Payne on assault charges after he kicked his girlfriend in the stomach and punched her in the head, police said.At his arraignment Tuesday, Judge Stacey Fortes-White released Payne on personal recognizance and ordered him back to court Feb. 25 for a pre-trial hearing.
