LYNN – A Lynn man was arraigned Tuesday in Lynn District Court on charges including home invasion, attempted murder and aggravated rape after he allegedly broke into his estranged girlfriend’s Lynn home and terrorized her early Monday morning.Robert Kendrick, 45, was arrested around 6 p.m. Monday. Judge Ellen Flatley set a $10,000 bail on the charges, but then revoked his right to bail because he has an open narcotics case. Kendrick was also charged with domestic assault and battery, intimidation of a witness and destruction of property.The victim told police Kendrick is her former live-in boyfriend and they haven’t been dating since Christmas Eve. When she broke up with him that day, he allegedly threw her down some stairs.According to a police report, the victim said she was asleep around 3 a.m. Monday when she heard banging on her front door. Kendrick allegedly forced his way into the home and the two argued for two hours.The argument escalated and the victim tried to call 911 but Kendrick allegedly threw the phone away from her. He then allegedly dragged her into a bedroom, tore her clothes off, strangled and raped her.She said the rape lasted about 30 minutes, according to police.After the alleged rape Kendrick slept over and didn’t leave the house until well into the next day, police said.Once Kendrick fell asleep again the victim said she fled the home and went to Lynn District Court to report the assault. Court officials had her report the incident to police.Kendrick denied the allegations to police and said he was still living with the victim. He also said the two had consensual sex, according to a police report. He is due back in court March 3 for a probable cause hearing.
