LYNN – Police are probing two street robberies around Central Square in which older women have been targeted.According to a statement from police spokesman Lt. William Sharpe, a 72-year-old Lynn woman was robbed while she walked down Munroe Street about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday.The woman said she heard two male voices behind her. As they approached one of them brushed against her forcefully while the other removed a pocketbook from around her shoulder. The suspects allegedly went through her purse, removed the wallet and threw the purse back at her. The suspects walked away toward Market Street.Police said the victim didn’t report the incident until she arrived home a while later. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects, described as white and Hispanic males wearing hooded sweatshirts, baggie jeans and boots.Another robbery was reported at 10:45 p.m. Tuesday in front of Dunkin’ Donuts in Central Square, police said.A 51-year-old Lynn woman said she was standing in front of the coffee shop when a black male about 6-foot-2 in his mid 20s asked her if she had change for a $5 bill. The victim said she took about $25 from her wallet as the man stood behind her. He allegedly grabbed the money and walked away.Police unsuccessfully searched for the suspect, also described as wearing a brown leather jacket, black knit cap and a scarf.
