LYNN – The Lynn Police Department is warning Wal-Mart customers of an e-mail scam.An e-mail with the Wal-Mart trademark is sent to unsuspecting customers under the guise of a “customer satisfaction survey.”The message says survey participants will receive $150. All they have to do is download an attachment, answer some questions and provide personal information such as one’s name, address and credit card information. Police and Wal-Mart officials warn it’s a scam.”Wal-Mart Corporation has confirmed that this is not a credible survey nor would the company solicit information in this manner,” Lynn police spokesman Lt. William Sharpe said. “The Lynn police would again remind the public that solicitations for monies or reimbursements are typically fraudulent and we would recommend that they never respond to these e-mail schemes.”If you believe you’ve been scammed, contact Lynn police at 781-595-2000.
