LYNN – Calling all artists.LynnArts is accepting proposals for group and solo shows for 2010.”Our community art center, located in the heart of Lynn, houses three gallery spaces,” said LynnArts Executive Director Susan Halter.The Time Warner Gallery, suitable for group exhibitions, is 27-by-40 feet, with 14-foot ceilings.”We accept one proposal for this space annually,” she said.The Willow Community Gallery, suitable for two-artist shows or solo shows, is 12-by-25 feet, with 12-foot ceilings.”We have five openings for that gallery,” Halter said.The Hartman Leigh Gallery for the Art of Children is 19-by-15 feet, with 7-foot ceilings. “It is specifically designed for schools and private art programs,” she said, noting that all three spaces have standard size door openings.”Accepted artists are required to install their show, produce show cards and provide an opening reception, though no fee is charged for the space,” she said. “LynnArts sends out press releases on all shows, but strongly encourages artists to send their own promotional materials.LynnArts, at 25 Exchange St. in Central Square, accepts proposals for all mediums and installations, though film and video artists must supply their own equipment. The artwork can be manifested in the physical surroundings, the natural work, an abstract expression or a three-dimensional representation.Registration and artwork drop-off is at the Marblehead Arts Association, 8 Hooper St., Marblehead on Tuesday, April 28 from 2-4 and 7-8 p.m. Artists entering the show must live withing Essex County or be a member of an arts association in New England.The non-refundable entry fee is $10 for the first piece or two entries for $20 or three for $25.
