LYNN – A man who allegedly opened fire on his ex-girlfriend’s unoccupied parked car on Wardwell Avenue in the middle of the night last month was arrested and arraigned Wednesday on firearm and drug charges.David Perez, 33, of 300 Washington St. #15, Salem, was charged with discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of a firearm and ammunition without a license, threatening to commit a crime and malicious damage to a vehicle.Police say Perez got into an altercation with his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend at an East Boston nightclub on Jan. 23. The woman and her boyfriend came back to Lynn when Perez allegedly showed up 15 minutes later around 3:30 a.m.Perez allegedly shouted from the street for the new boyfriend to come outside. He allegedly exclaimed that he was going to kill his ex-girlfriend before he fired five gunshots at her car that was parked and unoccupied.Police later did forensic testing on Perez’ automobile and found gun powder consistent with him firing a gun. Investigators also happened to find a bag of cocaine in his car, police said.Perez was additionally charged with possession of a class B drug.Judge Ellen Flatley ordered him held on $5,500 cash bail at his arraignment in Lynn District Court. He is due back March 11 for a pre-trial hearing.
