PEABODY – The Peabody Rotary Club is looking to sign up restaurants for their fifth annual Taste of the North Shore, one of the largest food sampling events in the area. This year’s event will take place on Tuesday, March 24 at the Danversport Yacht Club in Danvers from 6-9 p.m.In past years, the “Taste” has drawn a crowd of roughly 400 hungry people craving the variety of foods offered by the North Shore’s many restaurants. Past participants include Perfecto’s Cafe, Polcari’s, Naked Fish and Kelly’s Roast Beef – all of whom have already signed up to return this year. Other past participants include Azores Cuisine, Chick Fil-A and Spinelli’s.2007 winner Sidney and Hampton’s head chef Jamison Dolan said they, too, will be back this year with some of his favorite selections.”We’re a ‘new-American’ fine dining restaurant,” he said. “And we pride ourselves on our commitment to locally grown foods.” Dolan said that his restaurant partners with Sid Wainer & Sons of New Bedford and Newbury’s Tendercrop Farm to bring only the best ingredients to the table.Tickets for the 2009 showing cost $35 each; however, guests can buy two and a raffle ticket into the $10,000 drawing for $100. Live entertainment and local talent will also be provided as well as a live and silent auction.Proceeds from the event will be used to award scholarships to college-bound Peabody students.
