PEABODY – A Peabody man who is allegedly caught on video tape stealing a snowplow Monday from a local contracting company is facing new charges after police searched his home and found a small stash of illegal guns, police said.David Moise, 59, of 19 Farm Ave., was arrested Monday night and charged with four counts of possession of a firearm without a license, two counts of receiving stolen property over $250 and unlawful possession of ammunition.Police Captain Dennis Bonaiuto says an employee of the Cole Landscaping company of Peabody reported on Monday at about 11:30 a.m. that one of the company trucks had been stolen from their Pulaski Street lot.”He said he had a video tape of the people who stole the truck,” said Bonaiuto, who declined to release the tape.By 6 p.m., police found the stolen truck at 9 Centennial Drive, but a $4,500 snowplow was missing. The snowplow was found on a front lawn on nearby Farm Avenue around the same time the truck was discovered.Police arrived at Moise’s home with the victims who identified the snowplow as theirs. However, the victims said an electronic box that controls the plow was still missing and police realized it was likely inside Moise’s house.The police obtained a search warrant and began searching Moise’s house around 8 p.m. They said the electronic box was discovered along with four illegal guns.According to Bonaiuto, two shotguns and two pistols, including a .38 special, were found inside Moise’s home and he did not have a license to carry them. A box of bullets, which he also allegedly did not have a license for, was also found, police said.Moise was arraigned Tuesday in Peabody District Court and ordered held on $5,000 cash bail.
