No arrests yet in Lynn hit and run

LYNN – The hit-and-run truck driver who allegedly slammed into an SUV at the corner of Chatham and Parrott streets Wednesday night, causing the SUV to roll over and sending the driver to the hospital, is still on the loose, police said Thursday.Lt. William Sharpe, Lynn police spokesman, said he could not release the identity of the victim on Thursday, but family members said he is 81 years old.The victim was transported to the hospital after his Mitsubishi SUV rolled over at least once and landed on a sidewalk shortly after 6 p.m. Wednesday.Eyewitnesses said the Mitsubishi was stopped at the stop sign on Parrott Street and began inching into the intersection when a truck slammed into the side of it, causing the rollover. The truck driver then fled the scene.A 14-year-old boy said he walked on the sidewalk less than five minutes before the SUV landed there.The victim was treated for non life-threatening injuries.
