Hawa Aden rebounded a teammate’s missed free throw and laid it in for the winning basket as the Ingalls girls edged Harrington, 23-20, for a Division 1 overtime win during elementary basketball tournament action at Pickering on Thursday.The teams entered overtime tied at 18 thanks to Regina Ngaleau’s basket for Ingalls that deadlocked the score with a minute left in regulation.In the extra session, Harrington took a 20-18 lead when Ayana Marte scored, but Ingalls’ Amy Lawn made it a one-point deficit when she made one of two free throws. Aden would then supply the crucial board and basket.Ngaleau added the final two points for Ingalls.Aden and Jazmin Soto (Harrington) led their respective teams with 10 points each. Ngaleau added six points for Ingalls.Ingalls led 10-8 at halftime.Connery 22, Cobbet 10In another D1 girls game, Connery took a 14-1 lead at the break. Dynasty Howard led Connery with 14 points. Krystal Veras led Cobbet with four points.Hood 26, Sisson 22In D2 girls action, Devinya Robinson led Hood with 24 points, including 16 in the second half. This was a back-and-forth game: Sisson led 10-8 at the break and 18-12 with seven minutes left. Hood tied it at 20 with two minutes remaining. Rochelle Medrano’s bucket with 30 seconds left put the game away.For Sisson, Tatkneeya Smith finished with 10 points and Cassie Fiasconaro added four.Drewicz 14, Shoemaker 4Also in D2 girls play, Drewicz led 4-2 at the half.
